Leather or Fabric Sofa? – Which is better?

Buying a sofa is one of the toughest decision while shopping for your new house. Sofa’s central spot in each household, where family and friends usually gather. You should look for both a comfortable and stylish piece that will fit your interior.

But nowadays the market is full of varieties’ which can be very confusing on which sofa to buy? Usually, you will be stuck between picking a leather sofa or a fabric one. It’s time to put an end to the sofa puzzle game, as we are going to guide you with the advantage & disadvantage of both the materials.

The best strategy is to compare prices and features such as ease of cleaning, comfort and durability. When making your decisions, take into account your own preferences. Eventually, the cost of both types of the sofa is decided by the quality of material used. There no question that good fabric and framing are expensive.

Our advice: If you own cats or dogs at home, opt for a more premium material for durability, so expect to pay more.

The leather sofas are allergy-free sofas, which makes them appropriate for people with allergies. Unlike fabric, leather doesn’t accumulate dust mites, pet dander, and other allergens easily. In the case of allergies, you need to turn professional cleaning or take care of the furniture regularly. With the leather sofa, you will save efforts, money and time.

Color Durability

Both materials offer varieties of options. Fabrics provide unlimited tones and pattern choices that will fit any decor. The downside is that colours tend to fade out very quickly in time. It can be due to the excessive use of the sofa or simply because it gets old. On the contrary, leather’s colour palette is more lasting.

Our take: – Leather Sofas

Because of the sleek & a classic appearance adds certain elegance plus a royal look to the room. But in the case of a fabric sofa is very difficult to achieve such looks. Fabric sofas play an important role in adding a contemporary look to your home.

Our advice: It really depends on the look you are going after. Why not see how leather and fabric sofas set the tone for these homes before deciding on one?

Maintenance plays an important role in considering the material of the sofa to choose from. The cleaning products for fabric are cheap. Mind that if the fabric is not premium quality, you might have hard times removing the stains. In this case, leather might be a better solution.

On the other hand, leather sofas are more vulnerable to scratches and humidity than the fabric pieces. It’s worth mentioning that leather is very easy to clean. It requires light dusting and vacuuming. Of course, the cleaning of both materials depends mainly on your lifestyle.

Our advice: Leather sofas. If you keep cats or dogs at home, it’s a choice between having fur getting stuck on the (torn) fabric or unsightly scratch marks on the leather. The latter seems more resistant and easy to care for.

I had bought 4 rexine /artificial leather recliner sofas about 18 months back and now the brown skin has started peeling off . It is totally unexpected and disgusting that such a expensive piece of furniture starts disintegrating so early . This bad quality was not expected from such a reputed brand and even more alarming is the fact that after intimating the outlet ‘ Evok Vadodara ‘ nothing is being done about it .
